About Kerrie Moffatt
I am Kerrie Moffatt, a registered psychologist and the principal practitioner of Moffatt Psychology. I provide psychological therapy and psychological assessments via secure telehealth across Australia.
I work with adolescents aged 14 years and older and adults for therapy, and I provide psychological assessments for children, adolescents, and adults.
People seek therapy for many different reasons. Some people feel overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally exhausted. Others may be experiencing depression, trauma-related symptoms, or ongoing stress. Some people come to therapy because they feel lonely, isolated, or unable to share their thoughts and feelings openly with others. Psychological therapy provides a confidential and supportive space where you can talk openly, feel understood, and develop practical ways to improve your wellbeing. I am here to support you in that process.
Qualifications and Registration
I completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at Western Sydney University. This training included advanced study in psychological assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based psychological treatment.
I am fully registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) having gone through a 4 year study program and a 2 year placement program.
AHPRA Registration Number: PSY0002603338
This registration confirms that I meet national standards for education, training, and ethical psychological practice in Australia.
Therapy Approach
My therapy approach is primarily based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and exposure-based therapy. These are evidence-based psychological treatments that have been shown to be highly effective for anxiety, PTSD, depression, and related conditions.
CBT focuses on understanding the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and developing practical strategies to improve emotional wellbeing and functioning.
Exposure therapy is an approach I particularly value and enjoy using in clinical practice. It involves gradually and safely helping people face situations, thoughts, or experiences they may have been avoiding due to anxiety or trauma. Over time, this can reduce distress and increase confidence and emotional resilience.
Therapy is collaborative, structured, and tailored to your individual needs. The focus is on helping you develop practical skills that support long-term improvement.
