Standard consultation Rate
Standard Consultation rate is $233.25
Note: If you are entitled to a mental health treatment plan which allows a rebate for up to 10 psychology session per year, you are entitled to a Medicare rebate is $96.65, which is less the standard consultation rate. Please bring this to your first appointment.
Note: At Moffatt Psychology, we aim to provide affordable and accessible care. The Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommends a standard consultation rate of $311. To better serve our clients, we charge only 75% of this recommended rate.
Workers’ Compensation
- For clients covered under Workers’ Compensation, psychological therapy sessions are free of charge, provided that the treatment is approved by the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA). Please make sure to bring all necessary documentation and approvals to your first appointment.
NDIS Clients
- For clients covered under the NDIS, psychological is charged the the recommended rate as per the price guidelines. Please make sure you bring your details to your first appointment for billing purposes.
PTS (Psychological Therapy Services)
The PTS (Psychological Therapy Services) referral from Wentworth Healthcare provides individuals with free access to short-term, goal-focused psychological therapy. Available through participating mental health professionals, this initiative aims to support those facing mild to moderate mental health issues, enhancing their well-being and quality of life. Depending on your presentation this will give you access to free psychological therapy. This is only for people living in the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury
Lithgow, and Penrith area. A referral from your GP is required.
Cancellation of Appointments
We understand that sometimes unforeseen circumstances can arise that prevent you from attending your scheduled appointment. However, to help us manage our schedule and offer appointments to other clients in need, we require at least 24 – 48 hours’ notice for any cancellations or rescheduling of appointments. If you are unable to attend your appointment, phone consultation can be provided. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please contact us by text as soon as possible. You can also reach us by email.
Note: Please note clients that cancel 24 – 48 hours before your scheduled appointment, the full session fee will be billed.

For those seeking to obtain or renew a firearms license in New South Wales, a firearms risk assessment is often a mandatory requirement. This assessment ensures that individuals are psychologically fit to possess and use firearms responsibly. Especially if the Firearms Registry has received information relating to your mental health which raises concerns for your ability to posses and use a firearm.
